Our world is filled with positive and negative energy. Each of these energy influences our mood and mind. Positive energy contributes to feelings of happiness and wellness while negative energy creates stress and makes a person feel gloomy, upset, or anxious.

The effects of having positive energy include the following: (1) being able to cope with stress, (2) long life, and (3) increased resilience. Having negative energy, on the other hand, is marked by (1) increased perception of stress, (2) pessimistic thinking, and (3) self-limitation (Elizabeth Scott, “Reducing Stress with Positive Energy”)

Knowing how to get rid of negative can have significant effect on your daily life. Here are some ways to eliminate negative energy:

 

  1. Meditate.

Meditation is an age-old practice of calming your mind and body. It releases stress and anxiety and leaves you feeling refreshed and having a healthier attitude toward life. Meditation also helps you connect to your intuition and inner wisdom.

 

  1. Spend time in nature.

Because of the positive energy of nature, spending time in nature would make us feel grounded and calm. Also, the beauty that we find in nature makes it difficult to remain in a negative state.

 

  1. Use essential oils.

Since ancient times, essentials oils have been used to release negative energies and promote positive energy. Lavender oil, for example, reduces anxiety while peppermint oil creates a sense of well-being. In choosing the right essential oil for you, trust your intuition as it will guide you to the one that is right for you.

 

  1. Take a bath.

A warm bath releases tension and stress. The heat removes the build-up of lactic acid and relaxes the muscles while also making you feel clean and refreshed. While soaking, it is good to intentionally release all negativity from your mind and body.

 

  1. Keep your space clean.

Clutter and unorganized atmosphere attracts negative vibes. Keep the space around you clean and get rid of things that do not add value to your life.

 

  1. Cleanse your aura.

Aura cleansing is one of the ways to clear negative energy from your body, mind, and spirit.

  1. Move your body.

Exercise releases endorphins into the body. This hormone reduces stress and improves a person’s well-being. Walking and doing yoga are great ways to clear negative thoughts and emotions as well as in promoting overall wellness.

  1. Smile.

Just like exercise, smiling also releases endorphins in the body. It is an easy way to lift our mood and reduce stress.

  1. Deep breathing.

In deep breathing, oxygen enters your body, which helps you relax, clear your negative thoughts, increase your energy, and improves your mood.

  1. Practice gratitude and kindness.

Practicing gratitude and kindness turns your negative feelings into positive ones. When you are doing kind acts and being grateful, you naturally feel better and thus attract positive vibes into your life.

 

Both positive and negative energy are constants in life. Managing the negative ones is key in attaining a positive well-being. Try out these practices and find one or two that works for you, then practice them regularly.
